Prioritizing Gratitude During Thanksgiving (and everyday).

Prioritizing Gratitude During Thanksgiving (and everyday).

Happy Thanksgiving!

This week's essay is coming to you a few days earlier!

Ya know... because of Thanksgiving and the crazy Black Friday shopping going on this weekend.

Also because of Thanksgiving, I'm prioritizing my time with family and friends this week so this essay will be a little different (and a little shorter).

My tip this week:

Be grateful.

When you think of Thanksgiving, obviously you think of

  • Food
  • Football
  • Time off from work
  • Spending time with old friends & family

But I feel like gratitude has lost its importance during this holiday.

Gratitude used to be the primary reason people celebrated this holiday - being grateful for the people in our lives, the food in front of us, and the various things in our lives that we often take for granted.

Yes, the football is great, the food is even better, and the time off from work is a plus.

But this all means nothing if we aren't deeply understanding that this is all a privilege that not many people get to experience.

Not only this but the amazing people we have in our lives, the ones who truly care for us, and that we truly care for, make it all that much more special.

In short, tomorrow when you're sitting at that table with loved ones, eating the delicious food in front of you, do this:

  1. Close your eyes and realize how special your world really is.
  2. Tell the people you love how much they mean to you - because one day that chance may be taken away from you.
  3. Be grateful for the life you have and that you get to live to the best of your ability, every day.

When Thanksgiving is over, don't let this gratitude disappear either.

Practice it every single day.

Because the life you have is a gift.

The things you do every day are not a chore. You have free will.

It's not something you have to do...

You get to go to the gym.

You get to go to work and provide for yourself.

You get to travel anywhere you want in that car of yours.

And not many people get to say they do it all too.

I practice this gratitude every day:

Give it a try, if you please.

🏁 In the end...

I wish you well and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Keep pluggin'.

Like we always do.

Until Next Time, C.
