The Most Beautiful Things in Life Are Never Seen.
Today’s essay is focused on a quote I stumbled upon that really stuck with me.
“Why do we close our eyes when we pray, cry, kiss, or dream? Because the most beautiful things aren’t seen. But felt in the heart.”
Read it again.
I had to really sit back and marinate on this concept for a little.
Often we get so caught up in life, constantly trying to make more money, buy more things, and impress more people.
But this isn’t what life is about.
Money and materialistic things do not come to the grave with us.
The relationships we have, connections we make, memories we create, dreams we chase, all contribute to our overall happiness in life.
As children, our imagination and dreams were rampant. We had tremendous aspirations and we thought we could conquer the world.
We played with toys and set up lemonade stands in the front yard.
We made new friends and gave our loved ones our appreciation.
But as adults, where did this all go?
We tend to get so caught up in our jobs, making more money, paying bills, but our dreams have vanished.
We lose friendships in the pursuit of more when sometimes the best things in life are right in front of us.
Our dreams and purpose are what gives us fulfillment in life.
The laughs, cries, smiles, and memories we make with close ones are what truly matter.
Not the number in your bank account or what’s happening on your phone.
Put the phone down. Relax your shoulders. And take a deep breath.
Realize that what’s beautiful about life is not materialistic.
It’s what makes the heart and soul feel happy.
Keep Pluggin’.
